The PA Gaming Control Board has just levied these fines against Harrah’s Chester Downs Management Company LLC and Presque Isle Downs, Inc. They were discovered as having regulatory violations. Harrah’s received a fine of $10,000 for a violation involving the self exclusion list – they let someone on the floor on two separate occasions that had put themselves on the list. This list was established in 2006 and allows slot machine addicts, or really any type of patron with a gambling addiction to put themselves on the list so that in a moment of weakness if they go to a casino they will be denied access. By allowing the patron into their casino they broke the very essence of the list and allowed the player to first cash a check for $100 and the second time play the slot machines for two hours.

Presque Isle Downs received a $5,000 fine for not upgrading their slot machine software that had already been revoked. They then upgraded it shortly thereafter so that the violation was corrected. The board was pleased with the expediency that the casino showed, but it was not enough to revoke the fine levied.
